Getting the spec right
Residential chain link uses lighter gauge wire and lighter posts. Commercial chain link uses heavier gauge fabric — typically 9 gauge versus 11.5 gauge residential — heavier line posts, and terminal posts sized for the fence height and wind load. In Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford that specification difference matters. We've replaced a lot of residential-grade chain link that was installed on commercial properties to save money upfront and failed within two to three years.
